Short description
Workshop teaching how to make seitan and sauces that go with it, then sacrifice for the ritual at dawn.

Proposal description
The times of global warming make people look for ways to be more ecological. Becoming vegetarian or vegan is one route to this. There are new products like nyhtökaura and härkis available in grocery stores but they are quite pricy for anyone living on a limited budget. Seitan is an excellent tasting food with a good sauce but it is one of the most expensive and hard to get. One can buy it only from special health food stores where it is among the most expensive products. I propose a workshop dedicated to making of seitan, sauces that go with it and planning a whole sacrifical meal with drinks and other things that would go with it. The workshop would be good for people who never made seitan before and also people with experience to discover new ways and recipes. The end of the workshop would be a shared meal together. The participants of the workshop would be charged amount of money to cover the cost of ingredients. The participants can bring drink to share with the meal. This could be wine, self-made kombucha, fruit juice, tea, oatley, beer, shampagne or something else...... There could be live performances and record playing to enhance the tastes of seitan. All are welcome, except, obviously, the gluten-intolerant. |
